Dr. Mohammadiarani Hossein

Post-Doctoral Fellow

 

Dr. Mohammadiarani received his M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 2008. In 2014, he started his doctoral study, specialized in computational biophysics, in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) and graduated in 2017. He joined Professor Chaudhuri’s lab in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences as a postdoctoral researcher. His current research is focused on the development of multiscale numerical model using coarse-grained molecular dynamics and computational fluid dynamics.

Dr. Syed Nazmul Ahsan

Dr. Ahsan received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2011. He received his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in ME from University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) in 2014 and 2018, respectively. He joined Professor Chaudhuri’s lab in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences as a postdoctoral researcher. His current research is focused on the implementation of coupled Computational Fluid Dynamics and Discrete Element Method modeling of multicomponent-multiphase flow.

Dr. Shing-Yun Chang received her PhD degree from the Department of Agricultural Chemistry at National Taiwan University (NTU) in 2018. She spent two years with CFL from 2016 to 2018 as a visiting PhD student before returning as a postdoctoral fellow. She is the recipient of an Anton Paar Fellowship in 2017 and a Graduate Student Study Abroad Program Fellowship from the Ministry of Science and Technology in Taiwan.

 

Dr. Hossain Aziz

Dr. Aziz received his MS degree in Applied Mechanics from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2011. He received his Doctoral degree in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019. His Doctoral research was focused on interfacial fluid mechanics. He joined Prof. Chaudhuri’s lab in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences as a Postdoctoral researcher. His current research is focused on the coupling of Computational Fluid Dynamics and Discrete Element Method for modeling of multicomponent-multiphase flow.

Bruna received her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Federal University of Parana (Brazil) in 2013 and after 1.5 years of industry experience, Bruna joined Dr Chaudhuri’s laboratory as a graduate student (Ph. D.) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UConn in fall 2014. Her current research focuses primarily on computational modeling and empirical investigation of protein stability during fill-finish processes.

Koyel Sen

Koyel Sen received her Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering from Jadavpur University in 2012. She started her doctoral study in Dr. Bodhi Chaudhuri’s Lab in 2015 at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Connecticut, specializing in computational simulation (Discrete Element Modeling), 3D Printing and solid dosage formulation (Tablets, Particle Technology). Her current work is focused on numerical modeling of particle dynamics and 3D printed tablet dosage form.

Sameera

Sameera Sansare

Pharmaceutical Sciences

 

Sameera received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Pharmacy from University of Mumbai in 2014 and 2016 respectively. During her master’s degree, she worked as a Research Scholar in the University of Pittsburgh to carry out a research project on the shape-dependent antioxidant effect of metal oxide nanoparticles on cancerous cell line. She joined University of Connecticutas a PhD student in August 2016 and her current research focuses on experimental validation of fluidized bed dryer simulation and application of machine learning for complex pharmaceutical dosage forms.

Tanu Tanu Mehta

Tanu obtained her bachelors and masters in pharmacy degree from Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Delhi University, India. She came to UConn as a graduate student in Fall 2018 in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her research focuses on the mitigation of charge in pharmaceutical powders.

Tibo Duran

Tibo Duran

Tibo obtained his Masters of Science degree in chemical engineering from University of Dayton in Ohio. He joined Professor Chaudhuri’s lab as graduate student in spring 2019 in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. His research interests are Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) on multiphase flow and Molecular Dynamics (MD) on lipid layers, membrane protein and polymers.

Kedar Bartake
Position:
Summer Graduate Researcher

 

Kedar is currently pursuing his MS in Computer Science at SUNY Stony Brook, NY. He has previously worked as a Data Scientist on problems in Computer Vision, Object Detection, and Machine Learning. He is currently working at the lab for problems at the intersection of Molecular Dynamics and Machine Learning and the application of Machine Learning in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.

Venkatraman Naggarajan

Venkat joined Dr. Chaudhuri’s Lab in Summer 2020 to start his PhD in the Department of Pharmacy. Before joining UConn, he obtained his Master’s degree in Engineering from Arizona State University.
